Good Company on the getAbstract Book Award Shortlist
Jan 08, 2025Late last year "Do Bigger Things" was shortlisted for getAbsract’s 2024 International Book Award. I found this competition notable because many of the other recognized books would fit nicely in an Innovation Choreographer's library.
The final winner, “Trust” by Dominique Shelton Leipzig dives into advanced data ethics, a challenge that will be part of crafting responsible innovative ecosystems that leverage AI. While, Maureen Dunne's book "The Neurodiversity Edge" explores the benefits and difficulties of engaging people who think differently (like Innovation Choreographers) in organizations that have long favored a uniformity of mental approach.
Other books on the list look at complex system challenges, such as climate change.
What I take away from this collection of authors and their work is this: Today’s world is filled with big messy challenges and opportunities ... and thriving in this dynamic environment is going to require an enthusiastic embrace of complexity, adaptability, and new talents.

What getAbstract jurors said about Do Bigger Things: “An engaging and very practical read to rethink and change how we approach complex problems. More important than ever for all companies, from start-ups to global players.”
